Biographical / Historical

Robert Lee Bankert was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Macomb, the son of Drestler E. and Edna Stephenson Bankert. Professor Bankert was on the School of Music faculty at Illinois Wesleyan University for 35 years as a pianist, teacher and accompanist. Mr. Bankert was honorably discharged from the Air Force after serving for four years in the Air Force Band.
