Biographical / Historical

Sigma Tau Delta is Illinois Wesleyan's English honors society. The purpose of the organization is to confer distinction for high achievement in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies in English language and literature; to provide cultural stimulation on college campuses through its local chapters; to furnish community interest with English departments through its local chapters; to impose upon members high citizenship responsibilities; and to encourage creative critical writing.

The society hosts the annual MUSE Undergraduate Literary Conference that is also co-sponsored by Illinois State University.
