Abstract
First mentioned in the Argus in 1924 and at that time twelve sororties were contemplating building chapter houses.
The Alpha Omicron Pi house at 1314 N. Fell was built in 1913 for Dr. Edson B. Hart. Dr. Hart was born in 1868 in El Paso, Ill. He received his medical degree from Northwestern University in 1902. Dr. Hart practiced medicine in Bloomington from 1902 until his death in 1939. The Beta Lambda chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi bought the house in the fall of 1956 and resided there throughout its 44 year history on campus. Since the chapter is currently inactive, the home is currently being offered to IWU and Illinois State University for use as a conference center. --The Argus, v.107:no.5 (2000:Oct. 6), pg.6
Alpha Omega Pi the colony will be granted its permanent charter as a chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi at this time. Upon receiving the charter, the chapter here will become the 72nd collegiate chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi, which was founded in 1897 at Barnard College of Columbia University, New York, New York.
