Biographical / Historical

"Pi Kappa Lambda, a national music honor society, added a Wesleyan chapter last Tuesday. This society's goal is the stimulation of scholarly excellence to the study of music. Membership is open to junior and senior students whose academic records indicate superior accomplishment, whose musical and artistic achievements are outstanding, and whose potential for leadership in the American musical scene is adjudged noteworthy. The local chapter hopes to initiate two annual awards to recognize outstanding projects for achievement, both performance and non-performance. A certificate of merit is being planned for presentation to freshmen and sophomore students. Likewise, cash awards are being planned for junior or senior students. The Wesleyan chapter members and officers of our Gamma Upsilon chapter are Dr. Robert Donalson (president), Dr. Abram Plum (vice-president), Glenn Patton (secretary), William Hipp, Dr. Gehrenbeck, and Dr. R.
