The chief functions of the Interfraternity Council are to maintain a harmonious relationship among the fraternities, to act as a cenral co-ordinating council, and to prevent any conflicts in policy or activity between the member fraternities. The officers of the IFC are nominated by a committee made up of the presidents of each of the houses and elected by the IFC. The IFC is made up of three representatives from each fraternity. The Interfraternity Council is responsible for rush-both formal and informal...The IFC determines dates, rules, and procedure for rush. It also is responsible for the Interamural Athletic events, the Scholarship Contest, and Greek Week...The IFC attempts to conduct itself as a group of fraternal organizations, in such a manner as to promote both campus and community welfare. -IFC booklet 1961/62
The men of the Interfraternity Council of Illinois Wesleyan University are committed to building a fraternity community through the universal application and perpetuation of the five core principles: accountability, integrity, unity, open-mindedness, and service. We pledge to have an open mind in regards to individual chapter ambitions which address all fraternal issues. As an Interfraternity Council, we plan to serve the fraternity community through accountability and integrity; operating solely through a strong sense of unity.
