Biographical / Historical

The Apollo Club started at IWU as a glee club in the 1920's. In 1931 the Apollo Club Quartet was created from that group and the larger glee club group was dropped. It's not clear when the club ended.

"The Apollo Club Quartet has been in existence about six years...Goes on an annual spring tour of nine weeks...It gives programs in churches, community clubs, and high schools throughout the state...Also makes many radio appearances...This spring presented a program in chapel...Has easily proved to be one of the most popular organizations on the campus...Each member a talented and outstanding musician." -Wesleyana (1937)

The four Apollos and their accompanist are membes of the Collegiate Choir and appear with the choir during its annual tour to various parts of the country. members of the quartet are chosen by auditions open to the entire student body.
