In the Nov. 15, 1987 Student Senate meeting minutes there was a name change proposal for the Women's Committee to A.W.A.R.E (About Women-Men and Role Expectations). Its goal was to create awareness, knowledge, and concern about Female and Male current issues through program and the media. They were responsible for Awareness Week.
