Abstract

The Elite Society, an anti-franternity organization, in 1887, established the Elite Journal, for the purpose of championing barbarian principles. This spicy sheet lived until 1892, and numbered among its chief editors, S.W. Hopkins, Henry Harnley, H.S. Magill, Chas. Cole, W.W. Whitmore, and Eugene Landon. The Elite society was threatened with suspension for publishing but no action was taken.
